Perhaps the longer we wait the better chance they will sit and really think about a few changes such as this crazy idea to implement a bf2142 prone deviation to the game when its not needed and will only hurt the game.

Bug fixes and a new map/new content is all we really need..no enhancements to what already the majority of players are used to.

In the meantime I'll enjoy the current version since its pretty good as is.

I don't think there are enough devs working on this patch. IIRC I think in one of Bazza's posts, he said only 1 dev was coding and the other doing something else... which is probably why it's taking so long as there are so few devs working on this patch.

Yeah there is only three people working on the patch, and Baza can't code, so resources are extremely limited. I know baza is working on other projects at the same time, not sure about the other two guys, but I imagine they are similarly stretched. We will be in for a long wait; as was implied by the year it took to build an "installer".

We have been doing some closed Beta tests with the connection issues we had in Beta 1 and 2. We think we have it and we will be doing a Beta 3. Fingers crossed we'll have it to you soon and it'll work as we want it to.

Thanks for the information. I hope for release this week!

I can't wait to see the prone deviation and if the hitbox finally works like it should!

That would be awesome. Then all the people that are like "well this inst RL" couldn't complain.

Yeah!
Make it explode into fish, with every fish slapping a bunnyhopper and a hacker.

Is it the size of the map or something? Because there are plently of maps that don't have this "fog" they seem to think must be needed. It only really is a factor on PLA maps. Did the PLA invent a fog bomb or something?

I think the fog wasn't made to help reduce lag for the large map size, although that is a factor for lower end systems I suppose.

Instead, I believe it's more of a "fog of war" meaning, this allows all computers high or low specs to be able to have a balanced gameplay when it comes to how far one can see. A low end machine wouldn't be able to see very far due to a smaller view distance, but higher ends would therefore be able to see EVERYTHING if there was no fog.

The fog of war allows combat to stay within a normal radius of you, so you can't shoot across the map and hit someone who can't see you at all.

Although MAYBE it'd be nice if the fog was reduced slightly, at least on larger maps - since everyones systems have generally been upgrading but its probably too much work for something not that important.

I think that they simply ran out of time and during the next week(s) there will be a news like "1.5 patch released" which will just be beta2 with the connection issue fixed

would explain why baza is so silent about current patch status and the "new fixes/changelog" since beta 2 release.
