Battlefield 2 Beta - Will you take part? - Page 3

I'll download it and test it.. give honest feedback but lets hope you don't listen to the complaints about gameplay and leave that alone. Right now the game is pretty good it just needs more content other than a new map. Integrating some things like the little bird into a few regular BF2 maps would have been nice. But please don't go changing game play unless you give some jumping and shooting back, longer sprint and put the blackhawk guns back the way they were. Shooting them things now reminds me of playing with a nerf gun.

No more nerfing. IMO, some things need to be de-nerfed like the GL.

I hope there are more North American servers for this beta than for previous Betas. For the 1.41 Beta I seem to recall that most if not all of the servers were based in the UK. My pings were in the 150s, hence I didn't take part for the most part.

Give instructions to backup the existing install dir before installing the beta, that way you can rename/copy the dir so you can switch between ranked & beta servers easliy.

I recommend you don't do this as its always had problems in the past.
However to do it follow this guide:

Copy your Battlefield 2 install to another location
Install the update
This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it originally installed.

To go back to 1.41

Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 1.50
Rename the copied install (1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
Click START>RUN
Type: regedit
Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
Run Battlefield 2 as normal

We have a number of RSP's willing to run the beta servers across the world. We usually keep number low to try and fill up the slots to put as much stress on the servers as possible.
1.41 beta had servers in North America too just not many. We have more RSP's interested in 1.50 Beta though.

Thanks for listing the RSP's Baza.

We are all ready to go for this testing, when ever you are.

I think that I am not only going to be trying close servers, but a lot that are at a distance as well. Especially since I have been getting some alright Speed Test results lately for this location.
