Huh?
I still think that we need to keep asking for things just encase they can squeeze them in. Even after they mention things. The more that we ask for things and talk about things; the more it shows that we want the game to continue to be supported. Besides it never hurts to ask and hope.

i might be the only one complaining because everyone else DITCHED both BF2 and BF2142 for this very reason.

so as you hear me speaking up dont you dare think that i am alone on this.

if you want i can provide the LINKS TO PROVE IT!!!

google
"bf2 refreshrate"
"bf2142 refreshrate"

now go back and huddle in your corner and start sucking your thumb.

literally 10,000s of reported this very same problem.

that is such old news....
thanks for trying anyhow.

BUT LET ME REPEAT
DICE IS VERY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM!
for christ sake people were sending back their laptops just to get one that could do >>>60HZ<<< or above
the link you provided (the fix) will not work for >>>BELOW 60HZ<<<

PLEASE DO NOT LOOK FOR A FIX AS THERE ARE NONE!

believe me i been on this since the beginning and have read everything on it.

this is BAD PROGRAMMING....IE...they didnt bother to "ADD" 30hz as an accepetable refresh rate....
HOW LAME!

such an EASY FIX and still they let it go through BF2142 also....this is total incompatance if you ask me.

Not to bash your request for this fix, but its seems very trivial compared to other bugs in the game. This is the first time i heard of this problem(in 3 years bf2 and 3 years reading/writing bf2 forums) and your the only 1 complaining(exept for some on the links posted, 2 years ago!) Personally i dont care about any graphic support or fixes. Ig. bugs, security and content are important to me, not some bullcrap about running a refresh rate of 30hz and to call it cheating is a stretch(lol). With all the(real) cheaters, macro usage, tweakers, ect this is very trivial, but to each his own.

no way do i buy that.

i have played literally 100s of games on my tv-out nvidia card and BF2 and BF2142 are the only games that have this problem.

im tlaking both OLD and NEW games....BF2 and BF2142 are the only games with this problem.

Ok, I might be tempting fate here but has there been anything implemented already as our server has been fairly hack free over the last few days?
We had one dude today with an aimbot and kicked him ASAP then the server started to lose connection but it sustained the obvious revenge attack!

Take a look at the nVidia forums, there is plenty about it there.

PS: Even BF2142: Northern Strike, an expansion +1 years later than AF/EF and it sells at R99 (roughly 10$ USA)
@ Bazajaytee:

if possible, could you please point me to someone who I can take this weird price differences up with?

Knew I'de seen this before, here's a post from the BF2 archives (I'm bored) J-10 Problems VS F-35 Problems

2 things, the first post in the thread above show the collision meshes for the J10 & F35, but this one's more interesting, specifically the second paragraph

you got to be kidding me right?

i spend $1000.00`s on video cards alone...not including my cpu`s, ram, motherboards, sound cards and monitors.

i have never bought a dell, gateway, hp or compaq system.
i been building my sytems since 1996 (and im just talking for PC) not including my commodore vic 20`s, 64`s and amigas and radioshack trs-80 etc....
and you tell me to look on the nvidia forums...
gimmie a break....you are talking about posts from long time ago when you all had been screaming its vista and the nvidia drivers....well you see alot of time has passed and everyone that has bought bf2 and 2142 that run vista know it is not nvidia or vista.

its your two games and your two games ALONE!
no other games do this.
now i would like to hear your responce about why no other games do this.
and how you ea/dice can continually blame it on nvidia/vista when we know it is because you have not added 30hz refresh rate to the game?
add the 30hz refresh rate for 800x600 and 1024x768 already and many people will be very happy.

i have had and still have many games...."NO OTHER GAMES DO THIS"

im not trying to sound disrespectfull but you EA/DICE have been blaming nvidia and vista all this freaking time WHEN EVERY OTHER GAME WORKS WITH TV OUT.....what the heck you think im supposed to believe?
you / your company is the only one affected by this or that what your saying is just bull lalalala?
you tell me.

Not to shoot you down USAxGMF but BF2 and 2142 both work fine from the TV out on my nvidia card both on an old crappy tv and on a new plasma.
Maybe there is somthing in the setting you are missing

Are we still on this issue.

You know I just came back up north to my other house and was talking with my brother when I got back into town. He too plays BF2142 on his TV now. Granted I do not think it runs at such a low refresh rate but it works. So their may just be something up with his setup.

Hey USAxGMF can you list your system specs and the make and model of the TV that you have?

you didnt shoot me down you just didnt follow the thread from the beginning.

un hook your CRT or LCD monitor from your video card just so you only have an s-video out connection or composite out connection and you will see you cant even get the game to start it will crash to desktop everytime
you can stop trying to debunk what i am reporting because its all verifiable.
even EA/DICE are aware of this PROBLEM....read this thread and you will see.
the only problem is EA/DICE blame nvidia and microsoft for it being an "OVERSCAN" issue when in fact this is not true.

it is an issue with ONLY BF2 and BF2142 because the game will not take any refresh rate below 60hz.

its widely reported on the net.
dice and ea are very aware of this problem.

It's an svideo issue you say? I will have to try that this week and see for myself.

If you can afford to buy 'hundreds' of games, why not get a decent monitor or tv?
or get a cheap video capture card and run the tv out to the card and let it do the conversion to a 29.97hz signal

why dont you just ask a MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR company like dice why they cant ADD TWO LINES OF CODE so i dont have to go buy an LCD?

you act like to get tv-out working on these "TWO GAMES" is like solving string theory.

gimmie a break game companies that made their games "12 years ago" WORK JUST FINE!

put the blame where the blame goes!

i asked everyone here find me a game besides BF2 and BF2142 that dont work on tv-out and i will gladly shut up.

I AM SO CONFIDENT THAT YOU WILL NOT FIND A GAME THAT DOES NOT WORK THAT I AM TALKING LIKE THIS.

why dont you ask your-self or better yet ask DICE/EA why is it that their two babies refuse to work with vista and tv-out while all the other games do?

when you do your homework you will see any other game will work fine with nvidia tv-out if the game will work in vista at all.

EA/DICE have been saying this same lalalala since day one (its microsoft or nvidia and the overscan issue).....well when did vista come out and compatible video cards for vista?
january 31st 2007? well we are going on 2009 and alot has changed....nvidia drivers work just fine....vista sp1 been out awhile now and sp2 is around the corner (sp2 beta is already out)....
bf2 and even bf2142 still will not work on my HTPC using tv-out (S-Video or Composite).....

you do understand what the difference is between NTSC and GTF right?.....
i do because i have been trying to fix this problem since it first would not owrk so i know plenty.

its basically a lower refresh rate and interlaced video.....you do know they make CRT that are interlaced right?
most are not interlaced but some are (from the old school) "i would just bet you that if you have an older CRT with an RGB connector and the resolution is below 60hz that it ALSO would NOT work.

this is not an overscan issue it is a REFRESH RATE issue.
the games BF2 and BF2142 just simply will not work on anything below 60hz.

and I CAN PROVE THIS!

59hz only laptop bf2 - Google Search

this is from google....dont even open the links just look at the results where everyone with a laptop (NON TV-OUT) none WORKED!

people were taking back their laptops just because they couldnt play BF2 or BF2142 BECAUSE OF THE REFRESH RATE = BELOW 59hz...

i hope i dont get banned... but hey how about some serious responces about what is going to be done in the upcoming BF2 patch and hopefully a BF2142 patch too to fix this MAJOR PROBLEM.

it is not just me there are literally 10,000s that were affected.

i agree that is why i only was "requestiong the tv-out fix to be included in the 1.5 patch"

i only started to elaborate when people said i dont know what i was talking about.....this happened in several posts in this thread.
i had to respond / explain that me and others are having this problem each time.

BUT if you do look...i only was making a feature/fix request to be added to the patch in the beginning.

just wait someone will respond with...."BF2 or BF2142 works with my TV-OUT" then i will say again no it dont becuase you didnt un-hook your monior or im not talking about hdtv-out im talking about composite or s-video out with only that tv-connected"

this happens everytime i ask for that fix to be included in the patch then someone will respond that dont know lalalala saying its either microsoft or ea fault or the problem isnt there.
