CallSignMavrick your list is very unrealistic and some of the suggestions are based on opinions, which others will strongly disagree with. There are no game-breaking issues on your list, its all to do with preference.

DICE would need to completely remake the game to include some of your suggestions

I recall reading that the F35 vs J10 will never ever be fixed, as it is very difficult / impossible to do so. And besides, pilots have already found a way around this. The F35 can fly higher than the J10, I see pilots on Australian servers outflying the J10 all the time now, it's no longer one sided. People have adapted.

I'm certainly looking forward to this new patch, thank you DICE for continuing to support this game for so long and I hope to see some pleasant surprises with the new patch

Quick clarification on this one people.
I said it was the plan that we'd have the Beta by Christmas not WILL have it out by Christmas.

I know everyone is awaiting the update but I wanted to clear up any misunderstanding or mis-quoting.

Default Hacks?

In regards to the hacks that are often used... will this patch prevent people from:

- CTD 'ing all the players on the server?
- getting access to commander tools (UAV, Vehicle drops, ...) and spamming them on the map till it overloads and crashes the server?

That 's all I 'm hoping for tbh.

i guess a better wording of my question should be if you haven't tried to find out what competitive players want is that something dice will try to address later for bf2 and for future additions to the battlefield franchise should there be a decision to add to it.

@Bazajaytee,

OK, what me and my Battlefield 2 clan and the other players in the world most interested in is what exactly do you want with this patch for the game fix it?
It will only give a backup to the server and the player accounts to protect or is it still novelties for the game to be?
It would be nice if you perhaps accurate to say what and how far could it have been so?

Best greetings

Hootie

all i care about if they fixed one item nothing more than give us an option to turn off the voices in the game & especially the commanders. That is one of the most wanted of all its not a fix but its more of a demand!!!!

REQUEST: Resolution Fix for BOTH BF2 and BF2142.

this is probably the most needed feature as many of us use our regular CRT TV`s to game on.

It is widely know that with BF2 and BF2142 that if your display device does not do a refresh rate of 60hz minimum that the game simply will not work.

It will just show a black screen for a minute then crash back to desktop.

i just a have a regular (non-hdtv) sony 27" crt tv that has a composite in and only shows avail refresh rates in the nvidia control panel for 28hz or 30hz....BF2 and BF2142 DO NOT WORK WITH ANYTHING LESS THEN 60hz.

everyone of my other games work fine (and i have alot and also alot older and new then bf2 and bf2142)

Anyhow stop the cheaters and fix it so we can game on regular TV`s and i would be very happy....dont forget to fix BF2142 so we can also game on TV`s.

I was wondering if that USA commander voice "Enemy wheel barrel spotted..AGGGHHHH!!!" sound will ever be added in as an easter egg on the maps that have wheel barrels laying about.

[Battlefield 2] Battlefield 2 Update 1.50 Security Features

A few months ago we announced Battlefield 2 Update 1.50 was in development, but so far we have been quiet regarding the content of the update. It is time for us to reveal some of the features the update will contain! The priority for us in this update has been to secure Battlefield 2 against a number of attacks against the game.

We have spent time looking into the attacks and implemented short term solutions with the help of GameSpy to limit the impact of stats padding and leaderboard abuse. Other issues have been found to be game and server based, which is where Update 1.50 comes in. what Battlefield 2 1.50 will contain a number of security updates, including the following:

- Server crashing – We have worked with the issues causing servers to crash, which has caused problems for the community (especially those who rent ranked servers).

- Name/ID spoofing – Extra steps have been implemented to ensure the soldier being used belongs to the right account.

- Commander assets – This is to stop the excessive spawning of multiple crates, UAVs or vehicles.

More information on Update 1.50 will be revealed as we approach the release date!

Check the official Battlefield Website for more Infos!

Nice too see the info about the new patch. Seeing the info about crashing - is that fixes for server crashes only, or client crashes as well? Currently there is a well known, hated hack out there that a guy can use, and what he do is: He join a server, do something, then write in the chat, then disconnect. In 2seconds all of the players on the server will get crashed to desktop (client player crash, ie. not server crash in this hack).

Here's a vid showing it, if Im allowed to post it here:
YouTube - BF2 HACK Server Crashing

And another thing that video CLEARLY shows is: "The server info bug".
First when he clicks on the server in the server browser, you can see the "server graphic/ip" down to the right side (thats working fine, no problem - just to say it). But on the loading screen you can see that the "server name/ip/graphic" is not showing up, and this is the bug I have been talking about for the last few weeks. I hope to get this bug fixed..

And: its not that hard to fx the plane imbalance. Just make the hitboxes a little bit smaller on the F-35b, and maybe make the J-10 one's slightly bigger. So a little bit smaller on the F-35b, and a little bit bigger on the J-10. If you get that right and change both of them slightly as said here (not drastically, but slightly), the issue should be fixed. OK?

Ah, so that means no hit registration fix or first person demos - no reason to bother then...

Did you really expect that? The hitboxes aren't that bad, unless you have a crappy ping.. And its says in that post that this is some of the things the update will contain, so we dont know what else will get included in the update yet..

Bug fixes and plane-imbalance fixes. Thats more important. As for the plane-thing (again): Make F-35b hitboxes slightly smaller, and make J-10 hitboxes slightly bigger.

without worrying about "Hitboxs" give the f-35 more After Burner fuel and speed up its replenish time - make it that the j-10 has to stay above a certain speed otherwise the jet falls out of the sky, the only plane that should be able to slow down to a near standstill is the f-35, it's mental how slow a j-10 can go and not stall, make the nose cannon on all jets less effective on helo's too .. imo...

You can't expect anything good from EA/DICE if you are playing games competitively, that's why I moved to CS:S and am now completely satisfied with service VALVe gives. Also when I saw again few weeks ago some trailer where they were talking about bf2 demos being any good I got paroxysm of laughter.

This is exactly what I was referring to. Is this what the first fix will prevent cause it obviously states that it will stop server crashing and not player crashing.

It 's a real sad hack and I wonder how people can enjoy doing this. I 'm amazed that sites who publish/sell these hacks can stay online, they make profit of crashing servers, which is completely illegal...

CS:S sucks man..If you want cheaters thats where they are. Go ahead and waiste your time in a game where little children like to roam..
I laugh at you source clowns who come here praisin when its just as bad if not worse..Obviously you either got banned from a bf2 server because of your mom bought hack or you just cant handle the manhood of a way better game in BF2.

No, I am good enough to kill noobs on BF2 public servers and I didn't play there for some time. If you don't play on non-steam or are total noob who acuses everyone from cheating, you won't see any cheaters in CS:S for most of the time. I don't play BF2, because I can't handle the fact that when give someone headshot with my AK, only dust comes from his head and then he sprays me in my legs. When I play CS:S, shoot enemies in facez and it takes damage and they die (if the gun is powerfull enough)! Also in CS:S I can watch matches through SourceTVs. Record and then play FIRST-PERSON demos by one simple command (while in BF you can do it only with rcon access and then have some useless 3rd person stuff) and then render it with highest graphic details and fps I want no matter what my hardware is because of 'startmovie' command, that takes images of each frame and then you simply put these togather with some free program. I can change the HUD any way I want so there is no annoying chat in the final movie. Plan simply the way camera goes and where looks (known as demosmoothing) etc. These are the small things that make CS:S so better in my eyes than BF2. Howgh.

First of all, many thanks from Russian Community for this update. It's very good gift to the New Year and Xmas. Just wonna make few suggests/wishes цhich havnt been described above:

1. Make clays destroyable or at least deactivable by engineers.

2. Make Jump/Shute button like in BF2142.

3. Make medikits like in BF2124.

4. Make a map based at Georgia conflict (like Karkand, were is Georgian aggressors are USMC-team and Russians peacekeepers is the MEC-team).

5. Disable window "EA Message" after login.

6. Make boost for APC on Sprint button (its really needed at FuShe Pass).

7. Add new map from current popular custom-maps: Vahlalla, Bocage, El Alamein, Gazala, Al Khafji Docks, Abandoned Village, Jordan Valley, Melbourne, Nan Hai, Operation Power Failure, Operation Sabre, Hormuz. Not all - just one or two (or three =).

8. Increase range of capture for AA-vehicles and IGLA.

9. Don't make a spot (marker on the map and radio-report) if its really nothing spotted. Especially for the Commanders.

10. Fix the bugs and make something with the hacks.

P.S. It's short-list ^_^
