GordonVanDyke,

i have played all Battlefield Games until yet, beginning with BF:1942 with all add-On's. But what you have produced in the last 2 years is a shame!
We had the same problem with "Battlefield Bad Company"!! I gave you a try, sh.t happens, but twice, the same problem???

Why do you don't test your product???

A very disappointed

Issues still not fixed after... Month and a half? Now I know what to expect for the PC version.

I admit that CoD IS fun. But for 20 minutes maximum. I just don't see the point of the whole "spawn, shoot, kill, die, spawn, shoot, kill, die" system. Seems pretty pointless. Yes I know there are other game modes but they're even worse.

Any news on the progress of the PS3 mic fix? I would really give it higher prio as it looks like it is really annoying for most people trying to team up.

COD doesn't use servers! And it's only 6 vs 6. And in battlefield there is so much more things going on at the same time.

Like has been mentioned before, the issue with this is more on the PS3 side. In BC the issue was dealt with partly from a patch the Sony had to to do for the consoles. It is the only thing about he PS3 that I do not like. Consoles themselves are not the best platforms for VOIP but they have improved a bit throughout the years.

I personally decide to not even hook up my Mic for the PS3. It is not that I hate the Bluetooth ear peaces but more that I do not like it being constantly turned on. Consoles are mostly played on the TV's. Unlike a PC where gaming headsets are mostly used, for console the sound is mostly accumulating within the room as background sound. So when the Mics are constantly turned on/keyed up, it becomes annoying. You either can not understand what people are saying or it is all you can hear, because you are hearing the background sound from the game other other things within the persons house.

That is why I wish that there was a "Push to Talk" system for this game. Another feature that would be nice to add is if the games sound would shut off the games sound at the the same time so that it cuts off the background sound, but I doubt that they add that in as well. They could at least try to find a way to add a "Push to Talk system".

The problem with the consoles is that you have to work with the there VOIP system and not really just make one from scratch. The PS3 and the XBox 360 both have a different system which are dealt with differently. The 360 has an alright VOIP system. It is not as good as the ones on a PC but it is better than what we have on the PS3. Sony really needs to find a way to improve there VOIP system so that it is easier for the game companies like DICE to be able to make a decent VOIP experience for there games.

You know I can also see where many people think that DICE does not test issues like this as much. Yet they do in fact test it a lot, but from the way that they promote the games it gives the impression that they do not test it much for the PS3 itself. The reason being that all you see is them using the XBox 360. That is all that they bring to the conventions and all you see in there offices. It gives the impression that they do not hardly test it much on the PS3 when all you see it the 360. I understand the reason behind them using it for such things but it does give the community a false impression about there focus on the game itself. The 360 is cheaper in cost. So for logistical reasons they can buy a lot more which is why they would choose to use it for showing off the the games to the the public.

To elevate this they could just bite the bullet and buy some consoles in order to set up a testing room in their offices like the pictures that we see of the 360. Who knows maybe they already have a similar testing room with the PS3's and do not need to buy any. If so they could at least show us pictures of it along side pictures of the people playing it on the 360. With the convenstions, they should at least bring a few PS3's for people to play the games along side the 360's in order to show off there games on both systems.

When they promote the game on only one system it will adversely effect the views people have on how they prioritize the way in which they deal with issues that the game may have. Which is why we are seeing people saying that DICE does not test things when in fact they do.

Well thought out, so props to you for this. But can you prove the underlined - especially about DICE testing on PS3 a lot? As you say, folk have good cause to be cynical.

Other companies havn't had an issue, maybe they should fire some people over at dice and hire people who want to get it right the first time.

Exactly.

It's nothing to do with "oh they have better servers".

Half the amount of players, smaller maps, no planes, no tanks (in most cases), no jeeps, no landingcraft = less lag.

Just played Dirt 2 and must say the voice chat in there is the best in any PS3 game. GvD - please call Codemasters, they can help you.

Thanks for the info!

This may be a stupid question; ok this is a stupid question... How exactly are the mics meant to work when they are working?

I know that you are meant to be able to talk to your squad when in a squad (assuming they have a mic).

Are you meant to be able to talk to the rest of your team when you yourself are outside of a squad? And if so, can only those lone wolfs who are also outside of a squad hear you? I've occasionally heard a voice when not in a squad before but very rarely.

Also, if your in an xbox live party and a squad, can squad members who are not part of you party still hear you?

Thanks for the clarification.
