Default Update

I want to start by saying the threads of lies that I'm not around are just that, lies! I'm still around chasing issues even while on vacation and if you posted one of these threads you were a bit out of line for doing so. And those saying I left right away, I stayed after the game released with almost zero sleep fixing the major issues we could and still working on the Mic issue which ISN'T just on our end and needs working with Sony to help resolve! If you have lag (Not including APAC which we're working on, not an easy network you have over there!) it really is most likely on you end or your ISP. We can't fix that no matter how much we wish we could. Point is I'm still here!

Current Status on some pending issues
*PS3 Mic - Nothing much changed and it is very hard to get logs or this to pass onto Sony, but it is a priority.
*AOL UK - Things are looking promising and a possible resolution may come next week. Don't stop contacting them though as you are their reason to resolve this.
*Sydney Servers for Xbox 360 - Our match making system is not connecting players to the servers and this is being worked on as a priority by our Online team. This is not a simple problem, but is a priority for them.

That is all for now and I hope most of you can understand (a lot of you already do) not everything is a simple fix and sometimes for better or worse it takes time to weed out and resolve.

Freezing has nothing to do with your internet connection. It's your console.

It is.

Does the console freeze with other games?

If No, then its packet loss.

If Yes, then your console is dying.

I've only frozen 3 times since release. Anyway I want to know how can the mic issue be on Sony's end if every other game's mics work perfectly fine? COD4 and WaW fine, HAWX and R6V2 fine, PS3 exclusives great.
the only EA games that I have played on the PS3 are the Battlefield ones so I do not know if it is an Ea server issue or something with the Frostbite engine. Doesn't the 360 also have the same mic problems but it goes unnoticed because of the party chat?
I am not trying to be an lalala, but most of the time mic issues are serverside or game issues, not PS3 related. Like when Warhawk came out the mics were messed up, a patch to the Warhawk servers and to the game itself resolved the issue. Dylan Jobe might be able to help.

I am sorry if I came off as an lalala or arrogant, but you have to look inside first.

As I recall, you said the exact same thing regarding Bad Company on PS3 too...

Also, as someone has already pointed out, if part of the problem were on Sony's side why is that the only 2 games with this problem are Bad Company and BF1943? Not a coincidence in my book, so stop trying to lay the blame elsewhere and get your own house in order.

You might want to go to the US forums as well, there's a 13 page thread currently ongoing about the BF1943 Mic issue - they would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks for telling us GvD that you and DICE are still fixing issues in the game, and updates like this , personally, make me appreciate developers more because I know there trying to fix issues.

Do you have any status updates on the My Soldier Page tho , I'm hoping it works soon and offers more stats.

Default About Freezing

1st off I have had 5 xboxes. My 1st ever one I had was only one I got fixed but when it died I would jus by new ones when others broke. Current one I have is Arcade edition. I have 1 dead elite, 2 dead regular ones, and 2 living arcade ones that run like champs and have froze less than all others I have had and never had much problems.

That aside; the only freezing issues I had was when BF1943 1st came out it would freeze my arcade boxes randomly it seemed sumtimes in 25-30 min intervals.

After the 1st couple weeks though I haven't had any freezing issues. From my experiences w/xbox mishaps (freezing/notreading games/red rings of death/etc.) I would say its your console.

I'm not xbox live mechanic or repair man though so like anything said on forums this is jus my opinion and should be taken w/a grain of salt.

Exactly you aren't a mechanic, no offence to you but unless the console is freezing on other games too theres no need for him to be paranoid about his box suiciding, not to mention microsoft won't touch it until it snuffs it.

We hand off the data to the PS3, like on BFC1 huge improvement came through a firmware update on Sony's end. This isn't Sony's fault, we just need to make sure the hand off to their side is working correctly.

Let me guess, all those advanced security layers? I'm sure it will be up in a few days... We've been waiting close to a month (since it was announced) for Aussie servers. 3 weeks ago you said it would be up in a few hours after the scheduled maintenance. Suprise suprise, they're still not up and we hear nothing for 3 weeks. What a PR nightmare. I'm afraid the damage is done.

GVD:

Any chance of new maps as DLC?

It seems the game has sold well enough to merit DICE taking the time to create a few new maps.

I am having a blast with the game but it would be even better with more variety.

So let me get this right... We first connect to the PSN Server, Then we connect to EA'S servers, Then it goes back through the PSN server before it hits us again, and from what you said it seems to be a problem passing the data back to the PSN server? I know it not your fault but WOW, One question. If EA has found out how big of a pain it is to route information from the PSN server why would you bring the game out before it would seem ready... you said it yourself it was fixed by a firmware update BY sony Not EA.... So really EA has nothing to do with the voice problems on the PS3 it's sony? Ok then why does it seem that every other game company does not seem to have these problems, LOL maybe it's because not to be rude but YOU GUYS ARE CHEAP, FIX your lalalala and get it going... that easy.. Oh and I would like to say thank you for posting, please post in the US side as WE are really lost... Always remember people would not [Removed] if they did not love the game, I know that is why I do (:

Have a great day man.

Actually Sony doesn't provide servers for 3rd party games, so the only servers involved with a third party game are the companies' servers and the friend list/trophy/profile servers. The VOIP, invite system, etc is all up to the developers for third party games.

Did they announce that maps were coming in September?

I have not seen any comments by DICE regarding DLC. If you have, send me a link.
