Unfortunately, following the steps of throwing the XBox 360 on the DMZ didn't seem to solve my issue. I still receive the error of game unavailable. I've tried joining a party member's session while he's in a game and the same issue when in a squad. It's pretty frustrating, actually as I am to jump into a quick match (not all the time but most of the time).

dude you shouyld listen top sevenon...he knows his stuff.. now im not trying to critisize you on this game cuz it was a great game.. but if you guys wanna be top dogs in the gaming industry, there are things you will need to improve on and sevenon listed all of them.. dont cut corners.. we can be patient and wait for a game but we cant put up with jobs HALF done because they are being rushed. also i think the hole connecting to EA thing was stupid because i lost 1600 MS points over it (a 22$ value CDN) becuase i made my account back in the BF:BC days and linked my gamertag (which AT THE TIME was i Skitz0).. then after a while just a week before BF:1943 release, i changed my gamertag to ii cooney. now for EA online accounts, you can NOT change your persona and gamertags.. you can only add new ones but this gamertag was already linked to the same email which thus could not be changed..
MEANING, i payed 800 MS points to change my gamertag (my desicion no one is at fault) then 1200 MS points to buy the game (my decision again) but then had to pay 800 MS points AGAIN to change my gamertag back.. so i payed 1600 MS points for 2 gamretag changes which were pointless and for this i would like to request a 1400 MS points redeem code or some form of gift for paying 2800 MS points to play this game. please get back to me |

I did what you said for the problems with joining friends for xbox. And it made it worse for me once i opened the port some of my friends and i couldnt connect to each other at the squad menu. But once I closed the port it worked again. Right now my xbox is on automatic but i open the port for the ip the xbox says it is using. Do you have any idea why this happened?

Just because you don't get signed out of the PSN/XBL doesn't mean that your connection hasn't been disrupted. The router configuration suggested above is a standard, and I have heard people suggesting exactly the same methods for CoD and other games to resolve VoIP and other issues, so don't isolate this to BF because its not the case. I have not opened any ports and not put my PS3/360 into a DMZ and although I have had a few disconnects on the PS3, they have been no more in number than I've had on the 360 - if anything I've had more disconnects on the 360, the PS3's wireless is better than the 360's IMO. Try connecting with ethernet and see if you have the same results, it could simply be down to a wireless connection which cant handle the traffic / timing. Just because one game works fine doesn't mean that 1943 should work fine over the same wireless connection, each game has different bandwith and latency requirments. 1943 is a good game and very good value, I am sure that even with the dropouts you will get your 9.99 worth of entertainment out of 1943. |

Hi GvD,
This post is purely to do with the PS3 & I'l keep it relatively brief as I'm sure you're very busy trying to iron out all the bugs. Joining friends is great - considerably faster than squadding in BF:BC (where you'd wait for up to a minute before you found out it'd failed, then you'd try again with the same result... etc, etc, etc), but... Sometimes you'll get four of you in a squad, hit the launch game, it'll find a game & go to the joining game window where... it sits there for about a minute then throws you back to the squad screen with no ability to invite others you have to quit out to the main menu & start again - after doing this ten-twenty times in a row it makes one wonder if it's really worth squadding at all. Yet other times it works perfectly. The peep's I play with all guess it has to do with how many slots are available in the game we're connecting to..? Secondly, if trying to setup a private match, it seems to all go good for so long & then for some unknown reason we all get bumped back to the main menu..? This is usually before we even connect or at the time we try to connect. I know I'm not the only person to have experienced this, almost everybody in our clan has (roughly 30 odd peeps) & other clans/players we've been joining up with have experienced it at this time too. It' got to the point whereby we've given up on the private match thing for now until this is fixed. Thirdly, ingame squadding. You can join an open squad in game, though there's no option for selection. Many times I've been on the same team as other clan members & we've tried to squad, only to find that we've ended up on the wrong squad, which if you leave & search for another squad, it puts you back on the same squad again. Would be nice if you could actually select which squad you wished to join. Lastly comm's. This is all over these threads, so I won't go into detail, but it's generally good (if not breaking up) for a round or perhaps two, then things deteriorate rapidly to the point where you can only hear one squad member (if it's not breaking up to the point that you cant make out simple Yes/No) or there's silence. It's got to the point where our clan is looking at Ventrillo to get away from the problems we're experiencing, though this is both expensive & only practical for those with PC's. While BF:BC was only marginally better for this than BF:1943, other games manage it well & I don't understand how something that seems such a basic core component of any squad based FPS seems to have so many issues. I trust the above is useful info & not the same ramble you're hearing from others. PM me if you want any further info & I'll post it wherever you designate. Cheers, SIR_MadCant P.S. thanks for providing such a great game to tie us over until BF:BC2!!! If you can remove the genuine issues peep's are having, then this will have to be one of the best value for money games ever.

Gordan,
Iam having problems connecting to a match, what happins is I conect to ea online and I can join a match but about 3-5mins into the match I lose connection and get kicked out of that match. But it reconects to ea and so I join a match again but the same thing happens again, this happen everytime. I know this isn't a problem with my connection because all other none ea games work fine online. |

Gordon,
I know your a very busy man and likely fed up with all these posts so i will not take up much off your time. Firstly thanks for another superb Battlefield title (Major BF Fan) and all the help you and your team have given to so many. On to my Problem then. I am from the Uk and untill recently with the exception of 1 freeze up a day the game has been flawless for me. However as off last night connecting to friends and friends connecting to me has become a problem. I have not as yet checked the ports on my router as the problem is one that has only just started, and up untill now have expierenced really good contact with friends and vice versa. Cheers for you & the teams hard work much appreciated. |

Hi thanks for trying to help but the info about changing the settings of my router did sweet FA. I join a game, get a few kills and as with BFBC i get kicked out "Connection to the game has been lost. Please check your connection and try again". and all that lalalala. We as players shouldnt be getting this. It is hard to make a game, i understand that. But the effort should be made to ensure that the game is remotly decent to play before releasing it. Its a great game and its good to see that problems are trying to be resolved but if BFBC2 is anything like this then i will be looking for a full refund and as for future BF games after that i will just ignore and carry on with the CoD series.

Still having no luck getting a game on the 360.
When I start the game it signs me in to the EA Servers, it then finds a game but disconnects from the EA servers in the process. I then try to reconnect to the servers and it fails everytime. I have played a lot of EA games online including the previous two battlefied games on 360. I have also played Battlefield 2: SF & 2142 both using the same persona. I can play both Fifa 09 and Burnout Paradise online without issue. I am going to try and download Fight Night Round 4 demo (is that online?) to see if that solves the problem. I am getting really frustrated. Have not been able to play since trying the demo at launch. as soon as I activated all the problems started. Managed to get a 5 minute game 2 nights ago but lost connection to the EA servers and that was that. |

GvD, I have no router, direct connect only, and I can play EA SPORTS titles just fine. I can play ANY online games just fine however, I can not connect to 1943, or Bad Company. "failed to connect to ea online", is as far as I have got.

Gordan,
Looking at the new posts everyone has a similar or same problem, so this has to be a fault of ea and can only be sorted out by ea. My problem again is, I get onto EA online I join a match and then within 5 mins of playing it loses connection, I get kicked out of that game, and then reconnect and join a new game. But the problem keeps happening over and over again. Thanks. PSN ID: JPMc___ Last edited by JPMc___553; 14-07-2009 at 04:45 PM.. |
