It will only connect at stupid times when i dont want or cant play it (06:00am to 11:00am GMT), afternoons/evening almost impossible to connect but every now and then by the grace of the internet gods (and EAonline.com) it lets me connect to main menu (thanx guys) now im at the heady peak of the almost mythical menus i have 2 choices 1) try joining a game (not at peak times matey 'failed to connect to EAonline.com') or 2) try joining a friend, which funny enough, if it lets me connect to menu is my only real option if someone is playing bf1943 and sometimes it works! Now im gaming (at peak times when i want too) and i have the opportunity to crack a few shots off and die lots and lots of times (my own fault, i've had very little practice you see!), this lasts between 2 and 8 mins and then i get kicked from the server with 'network connection lost please check your settings and try again' as if i have not checked my settings a hundred times! As mentioned ive tried every suggestion mentioned in this forum inc portforwarding, DMZing my ps3, changing MTU, aol router settings (with new router from aol), wired/wireless, downloading FNR4 demo. Every other internet game i have (at least 5) connect straight away, no fuss, no problems and no friggin port forwarding! I am going to try letting a friend sign in as me on PSN and see if he can connect (he has had very few problems, just a couple of disconnects), then get him to sign in as himself!
The game is very good when it plays but still has squad and voice com issues which almost everyone seems to suffer, but im not the only one still suffering connection issues and now EA go silent like a fish through water, except for the quite rustle of seedy men counting all the hard currency they have stolen from all us suckers! I will definatly not be buying bfbc2 which i was looking forward too very much, EA can keep my £10 (doubt i could get it back if i wanted it) but they wont be getting another penny from me, a thoroughly disgruntled and annoyed BF fan! i hope the has a place for em all!

well said im not giving dice/EA anymore money bad company and 1943 dont work online for me if they would say does not work with aol isp users i wouldnt have bought them

I bought Battlefield 1943 Yesterday.
Playing the demo wasn't a problem, but I couldn't get online yesterday. I keep getting the message that my xbox couldn't connect to the EA servers.

Playing the demo wasn't a problem, so portmappingthings aren't the solution for me, any more suggestions? I'm located in the Netherlands.

Ohw, and if it doesn't work after this weekend, how can I get my money back?

Hi, I'm having connection problems whenever I enter a BF1943 online match. It doesn't kick me out, but the lag is horrible. I've tried playing BF:BC and my connection seemed fine to me. BF1943 is the only online ps3 game I'm having connection problems with.

I have a problem, I can log in normally to the server, and I can get in to a game, but after 2 matches or so, the game disconnects. mostly while i'am in the middle of a match. Im playing on a ps3, and I use a cable connection. I think this is really weird and frustating. anyone has a solution ?

Thanks in advance.

I still had problems getting on again sometimes and found out yesterday instead of getting 6.7mb i was only running on 1mb so i reset router and done all the settings again so i am now running at 6.7mb and i noticed before i was shooting people and nothing was happening and just played a game and the lag issue seems to be sorted and i can get on all the time now so if people are still having problems i suggest resetting your router to factory settings and set it up again as this might sort your problems like it has for me.

Good Luck

With the Demo i finally linked my Account with the new EA system by using Fight Night Round 4, and managed to play for the full 30 min and enjoyed it so much i decided to buy the full game on the 26th August

I got onto one game and after 5min was kicked due to a failed connection and asked to check my settings

Since then i have Forwarded any and all ports mentioned, and resorted to DMZ my ps3 all together as well and Still i get "failed to connect to EA server"
then wierdly if i leave it on the main menu for long enough i get "you have been disconnected due to lack of activity" WHAT THE HELL?
Am i connected or not?

This is appauling no other online game has this trouble only EA games it seems i'm very unhappy at wasing my money paying EA for something they won't fix and i can't use

*thought i'd post it here too in hopes this is actually read*

It is bang on 18:28 GMT when i get kicked out by the servers and it no longer connects

I contacted AOL about it and got this response
Quote:
Dear AOL Member,
My Name is Andy from Email Technical Support and I am writing to you regarding your query about Battlefield 1943, I will advise what I can to help today.
I'm afraid that this is a known issue in AOL at the moment where members are having difficulty between the hours of 11pm to 4pm. We have a team working on this as we speak, and aim to have this resolved as soon as possible. I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

hope the info helps

Default Official EA response

After numerous support messages from EA here's my latest reply. I think, for me at least, this is the reason I still can't play:

"The [failure to log in] issue seems to be caused because of some gamer tags being renamed. We are working with the game studio to correct this issue and are hoping to have the back end server changed soon to correct this."

Yup, I foolishly changed my Gamertag a while back & ever since have been unable to play EA online (with the exception of BF:BC). I'm really pleased to see that EA are finally taking action, might yet get to play 1943!

i switched isp from aol and it does work now, so anyone still having problems that is with aol it is their fault! dont listen to their c r a p anymore! get yourself a decent isp, it will prob cost more unless your exchange is unbundled but it will work.

I'm also having problems connecting at seemingly random times with the 360 version. As a network engineer, I can assure you there is no problem with my router or ISP, and EA account has been linked. Unless you guys somehow acquire L4D, I certainly won't be purchasing another game that you have anything to do with.

I tried opening a brand new account, with a new email address, and it still cuts me off every 10 minutes, its their servers! I also changed routers twice and ISP once, and have probably spent at least the value of the game phoning EA's less than helpful 'customer services', waste of time and money! headsets cut off, sometimes it lags horribly, you can't get in with your friends, and when you do your in different squads (or different sides!), all the same issues I had with bad company, only a year later!! bad company 2..... no thanks!! been running trace routes with a program supplied by EA, seems to link to a server in washington even though I am in the uk, can't help thinking that has something to do with it. Racedriver grid anyone?! headsets work, no lag, you can always get your mates in!! F EA and their S*it servers!!
