I think your mistaken.

I don't even know why your comparing the Nvidia GTX 295 with the 280. The GTX 280 is well outdated by now, newer graphics cards have already come in the market to outblast the GTX 280. It is more inferior than the ATI Radeon HD 4890 and costs £300+!
The Ati Radeon 4890 also has physics for example. And to knock you back off

I could say the same, the latest ATI Radeon HD 4800 series cards have 4.1 pixel and vertex shaders as well as DirectX 10.1 which the new game Tom Clancys Hawx supports DX 10.1.
Sad for Nvidia that they only have DX 10 and 4.0 Pixel/Vertax shader pretty sad really but unfortunetly there can only be one winner.
