MikeD (Producer of Tiger Woods 10) Quotes:
"Hi Mike,
First of all Thank you for mentioning my name in the Podcast, It certainly was an honour. It was something to brag about online lol
Just a couple of questions:
1) Did you understand my previous query in regards to the online winds? Did you find you could get 0 winds when it said it was 1Mph?
2) Also another question, are you doing anything in terms of the disconnects this year? Do users still get punished if their partners get dc'd in a Team Match? Are you also reducing the amount of points you lose from a DNF? Sometimes it's not my fault and a freeze up causes me to lose a third of my points.
Thanks again Mike.
Darren "
His reply:
"Hey man...no probs on the podcast shout out. Thanks to you guys for putting up engaging content on the forums that allows us to make the show fun like that.
I've never really noticed any weirdness in game where the wind displayed 1mph and it was actually acting as 0mph.
Regarding disconnect and freezes online...We've done alot of work and testing around this area of the game for TW10. We've been working to reproduce the lock-ups and disconnects that have been reported in the forums and have not been encountering them on this year's game (TW10).
The online skill points system is something that gets shared across all EA Sports games for online rankings. We'll maintain the current system this year. I know that's probably not what you're looking to hear, but we're hoping the new online feature we are rolling out this year will help to shift some of the online play in another direction. We'll be able to talk about that new feature soon!
I appreciate your support on the forums and look forward to working with you as we begin the design process on TW11.
Cheers,
Mike D. "
"The weather's fair game here....
So...this year you'll be able to set the weather in an online match to any of the preset weather conditions that are available in offline (rainy, cloudy, sunny, etc...). Once set, these conditions will be the same for everyone in that match. You can even set it to Live Weather, at which point everyone in the match is pulling the same live weather conditions at that course.
And then there's the wind This year you'll be able to set the wind in online matches to any of the offline preset wind conditions (calm, breezy, windy or gale force). The wind setting that is chosen when the match is created will apply to all of the players in that online match. If the Live Weather setting is chosen, then the wind will get pulled from the current weather conditions at that course.
Hope this helps clear the air (pun intended).
Mike D. "
Quote from one of the guys that went to the TW10 Community Day
“"When we were playing at EA the winds did move. Not a lot but they did vary a bit in the general direction they started.I didn't notice the velocity changing but the direction did, even if just a bit.
I don't know if it affected the post shot results but if you stood on the tee and watched the meter you saw the movement. "
