I have to agree with you first 2 guys. I finally got my beta key the other day after applying to both betas in the past. After spending absolutely ages actually getting into the game, I first noticed that the environment was very pretty. Hard to believe its the 2142 engine. But that was the last of the good impressions. (I won't rant, i'll give a list of things that come to mind.)
The game is simply awful. I have no idea how DICE managed to make it
that wrong. No autobalance, no sprint, the third person view is just as bad as we thought it would be, no minimap, rubbish character designs, can't change classes in-game, can't change teams in-game, it takes 8 shotgun shells or 30 bullets to kill an enemy, but only takes 3 or 4 sniper rounds or knife slashes, all the vehicles are a joke.
And the sound effects and voice overs are the most irritating, obnoxious and downright terrible sound effects i've ever heard. We get it, it's cartoony. You could try and be even a little bit subtle no? Apparently not. DICE have opted for the "constantly shove it in your face" route instead.
Now I was expecting a dumbed down Battlefield game. We all were. But i was shocked at just how low it was. Was any thought put into a lot of these game breaking things i've mentioned? Oh btw I've made it to level 7 before I got utterly sick of it so i've had a good few hours of experience with the game. I also understand that as a Battlefield fan, i'm not the target audience. That doesn't excuse it though.
Just my 2 cents from a long time BF fan
