If you're on PS3 and if problem persist. I have a few suggestions.

1. Reset your modem/router to factory settings. But make sure you know what you're doing. Then fresh configure everything on your home network, including your PS3 network setting.
3. Specify an ip address to your PS3. It's only optional, but it helps when you're going to do all the port forwards and stuffs.
2. Disable Media Server function on your PS3. Slight change after I disabled mine.

I did a factory reset on all my home network hardware. After reconfiguring I never had any problem joining squads. And I'm also connected with NAT type 2.
