I'm just talking about checking to make sure your tcp/ip settings are all correct because Vista has support for both ipv6 and ipv4, so just make sure that you entered the settings using ipv4 and that you entered a private network ip and not your public ip address.

It should look something like the below picture. 192.168.1.1 is the address of my router and it lets me assign myself a private network ip address between 192.168.1.101 and 192.168.1.254. On vista you do this by right clicking the network icon in your task bar, hitting 'network and sharing centre', then hitting 'manage network connections', and right clicking the local area connection you are using and hitting properties.

I'm not familiar with your router so you'll need to find out what the numbers for you are by looking at the router manual.

And this is how i have set up my ports for the game. Use the port forwarding and remember to type in the network ip address you assigned yourself like on the right column of the pic so that the router knows which computer on the network it is opening these ports for.

And also go into your routers security settings and make sure the routers internal firewall is turned on.

Sorry for probably not being too much help bro as i am sure you have tried these things already but my knowledge of networking is just the basics just like SmartCanuck so this is all the advice i can offer you, but it seems to work for me. Good luck.
