actually running through the crowd in assassins creed was very very unnatural. I live in a major city in America. I'm from Boston and never have I ever needed to make my way through such a giant uncoordinated crowd. I'm sure anyone that has visited a major major metropolis felt how unnatural and grossly overcrowded that felt. (maybe not so much in European cities as I know they are more congested for the most part)...I also feel that DICE specifically wanted to make the game feel very very much unlike Assassins Creed because the game is essential a Parkour game if you take the fighting element out of it.

Basically, one player is a runner, not nessarily Faith, and the other is a Pursuit Cop. The runners objective is to stay a certain distance or greater from the Pursuit Cop for a specified amount of time. The Persuit Cop must 'take down' (ie knock out/kill) the runner. If the runner manages to kill the pursuit cop, the pursuit timer is frozen as the pursuit cop player spawns again. If either player dies from falling, the timer freezes for them to respawn.
Matches are played out in a fairly free roaming large expanse of city. Both players have a HUD displaying the rough distance and direction of the other player as well as the outrun timer.

this entire idea assumes that Parkour is easy and that anyone can perform these amazing feats of acrobatic gravity defying moves when in reality the art of Free Running is incredibly difficult....or it assumes that every cop in the City is incredibly over trained. The idea as a whole isn't that bad but for a game of this style it just doesn't fit right.
