Actually, the 360 is not true HD and is, in fact, holding back the video game market with it's inferior DVD ROM. No DVD can display 1080 so no duel system game can be in 1080.
Microsoft done ****ed up and are thinking of ways to nickle and dime the suckers who went ape **** over an upgraded Halo game in order to get even with the PS3's Blu-Ray.

Must be something wrong with your cable or the TV. Check the TV's settings too.
