Injuries Plague Villa’s Season
Agbonlahor, Shorey, Luke and Ashley Young all out!

Aston Villa have had a bad week, not only losing 3-0 to Chelsea, but suffering at the hands of England’s clash with Italy, losing both Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young to injury. The duo joining Luke Young and Nicky Shorey on the sidelines, as the clubs dreams of finishing in the top four slip away.

While Shorey is set to return next week, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young both look like being sidelined for over a month. With a shoulder dislocation keeping Young out of action and Agbonlahor aggravating an old knee injury that could take up to 6 weeks to heal. Meanwhile defender, Luke Young still has 3 months before doctors say he can return to the pitch, snapping his anterior cruciate ligament in training, 2 weeks ago.

With all the injuries in his squad Martin O’Neill will be looking to make a move on the transfer market as soon as possible. With rumours linking Tottenham’s Darren Bent and West Ham’s Craig Bellamy to Villa Park we could see Villa’s hopes for a top four finish remain intact as the club sit in 7th spot just 3 points away from Man United who occupy 4th position on the table.
