  • The ability to block shots without giving away a penalty
    If you do a tackle to block a shot and the player run over you after his shot he will get a freekick/penalty in 09. This is not how it works in real life, he would only get a freekick if you actually tackle the player so he can't finish.
  • Backing of or getting closer to a ball that is getting to you
    This doesn't always work as it should. Sometimes you can't back of if someone crosses to you, because the players automatically moves towards the ball. In theory you should be able to do this by holding down the LT (NA scheme). It worked very well in PES, you just held down R2 and you'd face the ball but move freely towards or away from the incoming cross. This way you can back of right before the ball reach you to be able to volley the ball instead of heading it. If you're lucky you can pull this off in 09 by timing the button press late, but if the player move towards the ball he might just get it in the chest instead. I should point out that I know about Cancel but using this does not result in what you really want to do, because you want to just back off a little like R2 in PES. PES has super cancel too but you don't use it to back off a little.
  • Through ball must charge up faster
    How this should be solved is by adding the advanced option to customize the speed of the charging up for every action (shot, pass, through ball etc.)
  • Keep the replays at 60 fps
    It looks good enough as it does in game don't add whatever you're adding to make the replays 30 fps, it is not needed it just ruins the replay.
  • The ability to try to hit a low driven shot
    In FIFA you have to time the shot very late to hopefully pull off a low hard/driven shot. But in real life it doesn't work like this. You adjust your body and your running so that you get into right position to shoot low and hard. You don't just run the same and hope that the ball gets close to your feet when you want to shoot. However this does NOT mean that you will alwaylalalala perfect low shots, there will still be plenty of room for error from attributes and bad positioning to the ball.
  • New optional control scheme
    Try to figure out a new optional control scheme that eliminates all the possibilities to press a button and getting a different result than you were expecting (ex. cross instead of tackle, call for pass instead of pass and so on). Find inspiration from the NHL 09 developers, they came up with a complete new control scheme for 08 that eliminates button mashing and concentrate on the sticks and shoulder buttons.
  • At least 32 direction movement
    You gotta be kidding me that we still use the movements that are made because of the D-pads limitations.
  • Option to remove the sprint button
    And have the player do walking all the way to full sprint by how much you lean the left stick.
  • Save replays to hdd
    But this I know will be in because of the high demand for it.
  • No limitation for how many players that can lock on to the ball
    If I play BAPS I should be able to try to shoot/head the ball if I'm close to it. Right now a pressed button results in screaming pass or shoot if a team mate is locked on to the ball (even if I'm in a better position to shoot/head it). Open up the game, stop making it so scripted like this. Two defenders with bad communication should in theory be able to try to head the same ball, or 3-4 people should be able to try to head a corner. Right now every corner feels stiff and just like the last one because of the 1-on-1 script that ruins the dynamic feeling of the game.

Edit:
A huge problem in 09 when playing against the cpu or BAP is that defenders are really bad. When you hit a through ball they just run straight towards the balland always end up behind the attacking player. There are so many one on one with the keeper in this game because of this. In real life defenders make sure that they always try to make sure they are between the attacker and the defender. Sure sometimes they'll try to attack the ball directly, but that doesn't happen very often.

Not sure how to describe this problem, but it is like the defenders stops (or start to walk) and let the attacker run past them. I'm sure everyone have noticed this, hopefully EA too. This happens on all difficulty levels I presume because it happens on World Class and Legendary. You can see this behaviour a lot on video compilations when people have a break away goal.

There is also a bug when playing BAPS where the computer has a freekick and pretty much always just pass the ball to the closest player. So if you just walk up in front of that player and wait he will pass the ball to you. Pretty lame, the AI should still analyse the situation like they do when the game is on.
