Well, after playing the full game I feel I have to revise my initial assessment. FIFA 09 has to be one of the worst games I've ever played. As I mentioned, I played FIFA 06 for a while, and what I see here does simply not constitute three years of iterative work on a franchise. Installing those patches makes it better for sure, but simply not good enough - especially not when looking at what's happening on the consoles. If the AI could be fixed this poor excuse for the beautiful game of soccer might still be rescued. Until then I'll just be kicking around tennis balls for the dumber of my two dogs. At least she doesn't run into other people when chasing the ball.
