I Agree, AGP now is a waste, its effectivly throwing your cash anyway. If you want to do some gaming on a PC these days you should be looking at least:
-Q6600
-9600gt (blech ATi, horrible drivers just look at these boards)
-2gb Memory CL 6400/800mhz would do it
-New PSU and case (Centurion 590 is cheap and has a good 500W psu in)
-New board (Personally i'd go gigabyte ep-35-ds3l good budget board with good build quality, many boards these days are lalalala quality, asus used to be good but now its just cheap unless you go high end)
Looking at 300-400. There are cheaper parts but IMO its not worth sacrificing the quality and risking damaging the rest of the machine. You might even need a new harddrive and dvd drive with everything being SATA these days.
