I hate having to go to the Sandbox king. But EA take the damn GTAIV approach to space, you have missions, when you finish them you become lord of the galaxy, and can KEEP PLAYING. But you don't HAVE to do anything after the tutorial just do stuff when you feel like, but don't let people get cooler stuff until the finish missions (E.G: better guns, speed, HP etc.)
