If you are then when your on the surface of the planet, near the top right corner of the map theres a globe icon, click on it and it will bring up details about the creatures, plants and terrascore of the planet. Find the creature you want by holding your mouse over the small blue dots and once you've found the dot relating to the creature your after, click on the dot. That will set your radar to that creature and find the nearest one.
