FYI, the latest cracked copy by "RELOADED" brings me to the title screen and actually gives information on what's going wrong - still working on getting it going, but getting a LOT further than with the official copy.

In that case then there may be an issue with the SECUROM on there, it may be causing what my friend describes as 'a internal secuiry conflict' where it crashes the game for no apparent reason just because SECUROM likes no-one
I shall add that to 'THE LIST' (as my allies in space say
)
