Because its only part 3 & 4 of a larger game spanning multpile genres? and the aim wasnt to make an RTS, but to make a game tracking the evolution of an organism?
well yes, that seems about right...the RTS stages of the game arent the epic RTS's available today because the game ISNT primarily an RTS. Its more likly the complicated aspects of the RTS were dropped so that the cell, creature and space stages could be added in...you know, to make the game actually spore-like
