Hey guys.

I have had BF2142 for 1 year and have been playing happily for months until i bought a Geforce 8600GT 512mb graphics card, an upgrade to my 7300LE.

I insert it into the computer, download the drivers, restart the computer, try out BF2 which works fine. I then move onto BF2142, i insert the cd and it starts making very strange noises in the motherboard, it sounds like overheating but dies down and then BF2142 says "Insert the Playdisc and click ok and retry". I tired a no-cd crack but even then it didn't work, now i installed the 1.5 patch hoping that would fix the problem but it still does not work, i tired downloading a image file for the game and mounted it onto Daemon Tools and turned on YASU, no change.

I looked over the EA support page but it didn't talk about this problem at all. I think it maybe a problem with my PSU, its only 300watts so maybe EA's BLOOD SUCKING SECUROM IS TAKING AWAY ALL MY POWER JUST TO SCAN MY DISC!

My brother has the same computer as me and has no problem at all with his game using the same CD so it must be because of my graphics card upgrade.

Once again why i hate EA for picking the worst copy protection there ever there was.

I could really use help so i can get back to blowing up Titans, please help!

Fixed : All i did was rename BF2142.exe to BF.exe and now it works, also i updated safedisc with a fix from microsoft.
