I hope they make some sort of Comma Rose on the D pad.
Something like this.

Up = Spotted (Tell what kind when the cross-hairs are on the target; and when cross-hairs are not on a target it could say Enemy Spotted or something like that. Also showing on the radar the location of the things spotted.)
Down = Medic
Right = Resupply
Left = Repairs

Something like that. I am actually surprised that they do not have it already.
Yet I have seen something that says that I have spotted things. It usually happens on it own though. Never really figured out how I spotted something.
