And you can't add on playoff games and the points they would have gotten because not every playoff team played the same amount of games in the playoffs.

You know why they don't play an equal amount of games? Because the best teams are in it longer, thus play more games. If If a team doens't get to play as many games, it's their own fault. But anyway that's why I said Hypothetically. I know that's not the way it works.

They are labled the MLS Cup Champions and get a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League!! That seems like good enough credit to me.

I was saying that the other poster was giving them no credit.

But in the MLS Houston is a top team. They more like a Chelsea or ManU in the MLS, more than they are a Portsmouth type team. As, I mentioned they were 3rd in regular season points, not some bottom dweller who went on a magical run.
In England, the cup games are played along side the EPL. There are two seperate champions. In MLS, the league play and MLS cup play are used together to determine champions. That's a big difference. In essence, MLS regular season is kinda like a big qualifier for the MLS cup. There is no reward leading in regular season points, other than a spot in the playoffs. You just can't compare MLS to EPL the two leagues are run very differently.
