Sounds most likely that your sound drivers just haven't installed. Is it a newer pre-built PC? Because most, even onboard sound cards didn't have drivers as an XP standard. Fine example was my old PC from around 2002, I'd have to find the drivers (same with this current one). Most likely you've got a Realtek set. Just find out the make of your PC an then go to its site, either that or find out the motherboard type for me (
CPUID) an I can most likely just find the sound drivers from there (it'll be listed under the tab "mainboard") an once more.
