I would remove the CAPS from your post as it is classed as Shouting which isn't necessarily allowed on these forums.
And no, the online servers do work, it's only been a few days since release which usually means that not a lot of people play online.
If you don't want to play the game online, I would either play with Offline Multiplayer or just play as one soldier with the other one taken control of by the A.I.
In the future, if you don't like the game or have some criticisms that you want to be passed on to the Development Team, try making them constructive, please.
