I was a Man Utd fan when I was around 6 or 7 years old for reasons that I cant really remember - I then regularly went to see Bristol Rovers as at the time they were playing all their home games just down the road from me. Kind of converted and supported ever since, although I did lose interest in football for a couple of years and didnt follow the sport greatly.
I think its very hard to not support a team that you go and see regularly. I live just down the road from Fratton Park now... if I got a season ticket to pompy I would imagine I would find it very hard to not follow them if I was to see all their games standing in the home end. That said, I dont think I would ever waver at this point from being a Bristol Rovers fan - but at a younger age the team you see the most should have the greatest impression on who you support.
