The Luminous Pro Antique Camera

Description

What a find! This upright vintage camera hails from the days of yore, when cameras didn't fit into your pocket. Gather your sim's family and friends to pose for a picture together, or just take snapshots of your sim's favourite scenes from around the house. Sell photos for simoleons or click on them in buy mode to conveniently hang on any wall, or place on a table or counter.

Additional Notes

The Artist career is only available to university graduates, so your sim would need to go to college to achieve the Luminous Pro Antique Camera. When selecting the shoot picture interaction, you will be given the choice to shoot a landscape or a portrait picture. You will also be given the chance to choose from various photographic effects (Normal, Lighting Bloom, Film Grain, Letterbox or Vignette). Once you have made your choice you will get the same picture framing box that you get with the painting easel. Just frame your shot and press the C button. The location of the camera takes no effect on what you actually photograph and you may find it easier if you go into the camera mode by pressing the TAB key.

Using the pose interaction you can place your sims in a various array of different poses, whether normal or zany. The sim will stay in that pose for as long as their needs allow. If their needs decay too much they will come out of the interaction themselves. While your sims are posed, if you select another unposed sim and click on the posed sim, you will have the option to have your selected sim go and stand next to the posed sim. You can then continue and pose this sim as well. Posed sims will turn their heads to look towards the camera (they look at you the player, not the camera object) as you move your camera view around with the normal play mode controls.

Once you have taken your photograph with your new camera, you can unpose your sims if you posed them and go to the next step; which is getting your new photo. To do this you will need to go into buy mode. At this point it can sometimes be a bit tricky as you will need to grab the image off the side of the camera. The best way to do that is to zoom in close on the camera object whilst in the buy mode. If you look carefully at your camera you will see a small flattened dark object sticking out of the side. This is your recently taken photo. Using the buy mode hand tool, carefully take off the photo from the side of the camera.

Now that you have your photo in your buy mode hand, what do you do with it. Basically you have three options. Firstly you can sell it if you wish in the same way you would sell other objects. If you would prefer to keep it, you can place it up against any blank portion of wall in a similar fashion to other buy mode paintings and photographs, watching as the photograph receives a new frame just before you hang it. Alternatively, if you hold the photo near an empty table or countertop, you will see that it receives a new tabletop frame and you can now rest the photo on the surface.

Remember that your photographs don't appreciate in value in the same fashion as your paintings do, but if you want to have your sims spend time taking lots of photos, you can make enough cash from selling them to be comparable to a low level job in a normal career.
