Missing formations like 3-2-3-2, 3-3-3-1 etc could be overcome by allowing you to select how many defenders you want, how many holding midfielders you want etc.

Would like to see in game goal flashes/alerts etc. For example in the ECC or EFA competitions when the group games are played simulaneously you may need a certain result to happen in the other game for your team to go through. Results from other games would flash up and a roar would go up around the stadium as the crowd reacts to the other game. This is the kind of excitment that fans experience in real life when they're watching their team but are hoping for results elsewhere. Also could be applied to league competitions in the last few weeks of the season and you're vying for the title or trying to stay up.
EDIT: when a goal is scored the group table showing how things stand at the moment could also show up.

In manager mode the Mexican, Brazilian and MLS leagues have very limited playability for people who don't really support a club from any of these countries - no offence meant to people who do support these teams by the way. Manager mode in these leagues basically consists of win the league and cup in a season or two then move on because there is nothing left to achieve or build for. To increase the playability of these leagues you seriously need to add maybe two teams from each South American country to the Rest of the World section so that there can be a Copa Libertadores competition in manager mode. This would enhance the playability of these leagues greatly by adding greater depth and variety. On the subject off adding teams there are a host of eastern european clubs who should be added to ROW aswell - Red Star, Kiev, Steau, Levski, CSKA are just a few very good clubs that deserve to be acknowledged. Would again give added variety to ECC and EFA competitions. I think you will find this request a lot when you go through this thread!

Another thing that people get annoyed about is the missing players and undone transfers when the game is released. I know there was a patch but when i (on the PS2) installed the roster update i was then unable to edit players. I had a choice between two features of the game - i could have updated squads but no editing capability or the ability to edit and have to update the squads manually and still be missing players. I should be able to do both, and not everyone has their PS2 hooked up online. To get around this there could be some sort of 'copy and paste' facility from international teams. For example i could be able to copy Sorin - missing this year from his club without the roster update - from the Argentina squad onto Hamburg so that he would then be on both squads. Players who are in the game only on their international team could then be allocated to a club team without the need to go online.

Goalkeepers are a bit better this year but not perfect. Sometimes, even on legendary difficulty, a long shot will be parried into the net by the keeper when it looks like it could easily have been caught. Keepers could be stickier when it comes to holding longer shots or they should punch more shots round the post or over the bar. I am glad that they do not seem to be knocking the ball out into the middle of the goal area straight to an attacker after a shot as often as they did in 06. This led to a cheap way of scoring last year.

Goals from crosses seem to be harder to score from. Thank you. In 06 it was way too easy to score from a crossed ball and i am glad this way of scoring requires much more skill.

The new manager mode features like the youth system, real money, realistic transfers were all good, greatly enhanced the game in my opinion. How about also being able to see results/tables/top scorer lists from leagues outside your own so you can see what players are on form etc to formulate transfer strategies? Perhaps also have the ability to offer a player plus cash or player swaps when conducting transfers?

There should be more controversy in the game. For instance the ball bounces down over the goal line and back out or is cleared by a defender from behind the line after a shot but the referees miss it and don't give the goal and vice versa for when a goal is given but all of the ball didn't cross the line. Also mistakes should happen in the offside rule. Players offside score and the goal is given etc. These things should also bring out a passionate reaction from the fans in the crowd. These things should happen in the game as in real life but should only happen only once in a while, not every game. Diving could also be introduced to the game. It would be a hard thing to time perfectly and to get away with and should be punished with a yellow card when spotted. Referees make mistakes and can be conned by players like this in real life and this human error factor should appear in the game.

Substitutions
In the Fifa series, subs are done once the ball goes out of play. For example, if the ball is out of play for a throw in, a GK or even a FK. I want to make a substitution and it becomes effective immediately, instead of waiting until the ball is out of play again. (PES/WE does that well)

I see that the computer makes subs but are these subs for tactical reasons or are they just putting players into the game. Since owning this game or even world cup game, the comp makes only one sub during games unless they get an injury. It would be nice to see if the computer is down a goal they would take off a defender to put on a attacker or the opposite... up a goal and want to ensure they hold on to the lead and take off an attacker or a midfielder to add an extra defender.

Celebrations/Cutscenes
They visuals in 07 are nice, very funny(yet to see the electric slide goal celebration as seen done by Lyon players). With regards to the celebrations, I want to see a trophy celebration where you see the Captain of your team receive his medal and lift the trophy with the rest of the team on the podium with confetti and fireworks. After, you see them parading around the field with the trophy and holding flags of their nationality. The goal celebrations could be a bit more realistic in the sense if you score a goal and the player doesn't run off to the corner flag the cutscene reflects where he is on the pitch. (PES/WE does a good job of this, not sayin copy their style). In a league, you guys wait til we have played the last game of the season to say we won the trophy even though with 5 games or more to go the point difference between first and second is so large. An example of what I mean... look two years ago when Chelsea played Bolton at The Reebok stadium and Lampard scored two wonderful goals and gave Chelsea the win to secure the League title and they had the trophy presentation on their opponents ground. That would be nice. Also let it apply if you are at home and you win a game to secure the title, even though it is not the last game of the season. With regards to a game that will determine if the title is yours... show the players walking past the trophy like they do in real life especially seen in the Champion's League Final. Do that for cup finals and games in the league where it decides if you win it.

I think someone mention this earlier, Tidbits of Scores in other games.....just as in the world cup game where you could see the scores of other games in the group. that was a nice lil' feature I enjoyed bring that back for the domestic leagues and group competitions like EFA and ECC. With commentators mentioning the score like they did in World Cup Game Germany 2006.

Players looks
The producers of World Cup Germany 2006 did a good job with player faces. Drogba and Robinho were spot on in that game but look a tad bit bad in 07. Use the templates that were used in that game for Drogba and Robinho in Fifa 08. Adriano is face has been caught very well but his skin tone is a bit light. The complexion or tone he had in Fifa 06 was excellent. Incorporate skintone from 06 with how Adriano looks now in 07.

Editing Kit Numbers
In 06 and in 07 when you edit a number for a player why does it affect the numbering for that player on their country. The goal is if you edit a Joaquin(Valencia) who wears 17 for country and you change his number @ the club from 17 to 15... the number on spain changes to 15. That should not be so. Edit for country should be separate from edit for club. To combat this glitch, when I'm editing I look @ the player's nationality. if the country is included in the game.... I look at the squad selection if the player is on the squad, remove him, change the kit number for club and then put him back on the international squad so as to not change his number for the country. Some players wear the same number for country just like club. Example... Nicolas Anelka wears 39 for Bolton and France so changing his number wouldn't affect anything.

Selection of Keeper
why are we the fans unable to select our goal keeper to take FK or PK. I want to have the option to choose my keeper just like I can choose the other 10 players on the field to do the same.

Leagues
The Argentine league should be the next league introduced in Fifa 08 since it seems you add a league with each new installment. I liked that the Turkish League was introduced. You can think of the Greek League, Russian League, Romanian League or the Ukrainian League since a lot of teams seeming to be entering the european competitions from these countries.

Stadiums
If the Argentine league is included in 08 please put in La Bombanera (Boca Juniors) and El Monumental (Riverplate). I was bit disappointed that the biggest club in Germany - Bayern Munich did not have the Allianz Arena in the current gen version.... I think it is in next gen version (x-box 360). It would be nice to include it in 08. I was also wondering if you had it in the world cup game why were unable to put it in 07?

Comments on this game (Fifa 07)
The idea to be able to select any person you want to kick a CK or FK is excellent. The gameplay is much better but the players still don't move as they should especially if you are in the box and you want to make a pass to a player he doesn't come towards the ball enabling the computer to intercept and kick it out. Against human opponents the game plays much better.

The game overall is much improved and the recommendations here along with what has already been written in this thread should enable Fifa 08 to be the King of Footie... putting pressure on PES/WE producers.
