SmartCanuck, I like your idea about warming up players on the subs bench. Gives you more to think about as a manager which can only enhance the game.

Perhaps you could also send out your subs to warm up at half time if you plan on making a substitution at the start of the 2nd half.

Also maybe the fans could influence the energy levels of players warming up? If you have a player warming up who has not been playing well in recent weeks and has a low average match rating then the fans could get on his back about this while he is warming up. This would affect his morale level and mean it will take longer for him to get his energy levels up. The opposite would happen for players who are playing well and are idolised by the fans – they would receive praise from the fans as they warmed up and their morale would be higher, allowing their energy levels to increase more rapidly.
