Yes, the store.
I think it's shoddy treatment: People buy the game, as perhaps they have done since the beginning and pay the full price (some paid £35 - others perhaps got better deals online) for the game that they expect, after years of receiving, with full standard content.
Why on earth should I pay more so that I can have the extra neighbourhoods which were previously a standard part of the game, or pieces of furniture that perhaps I can do with out but were otherwise previously contained in all the games without having to buy them separately.
The only person who seems to find this amusing is Yahtzee; "Omigosh! EA DO have business acumen afterall!?" - or something to that effect.
As a reflection of their opinion of sims fans? I'd say that EA actually expect (and I think they're probably right for the majority) for their customers to roll over and pay extra for stupid little pieces that should have been included in a belatedly released game anyway. Nice opinion they have. Probably correct too. I didn't see too many complaints about this "feature". I guess people are too loved up to think "wait, I'm spending a lot of money on a game, really".
Clever little marketing scheme.

I hope that they get over the losses the company made and stop charging customers for content they can easily release in-game.
I'm sticking to free custom made things as I did with the sims 2 stuff packs.
