I got mine working. I found out I was opening the wrong file XD. I found the right file at
System (C
/Programs (x86)/ electronic arts/Spore EP1/SporebinEP1/Sporeapp
Don't know if this is your problem but it worked for me.
Did'nt mean to do a smiley there but a : ). please note that.
